Pheasants Forever is dedicated to the conservation of pheasants, quail and other wildlife through habitat improvements, public awareness, education, and land management policies and programs.
In 1982, a group of pheasant hunters saw the connection between upland habitat loss and declining pheasant populations. An organization dedicated to upland wildlife habitat conservation was needed, and Pheasants Forever was formed.
Today, the combined impact of Pheasants Forever and its counterpart Quail Forever cannot be ignored. Since 1982, the organization has:
-Improved 19 million acres of critical wildlife habitat, benefiting wildlife, cleaning our waterways and safeguarding our soils.
-Secured more than 200,000 acres of upland habitat which are now all permanently open to public hunting and recreation.
-Completed more than 540,000 habitat projects and have spent more than $867 million on habitat and educational programs.
-Impacted over 300,000 youth annually through shooting sports, mentored hunts, youth habitat projects and outdoor education curricula.
